Job Search Strategies:
Resume / Cover Letter Development
Developing a polished resume is necessary for a successful
job search. Learn how to create your own resume showcasing your strengths. A
cover letter must be perfect in grammar, punctuation, and present the candidate
in the best light; the office personnel can also help the student learn how to
create individual letters for each position. Call the Office to schedule an
appointment.

Mock Interviewing Program
This program helps students practice their interviewing
skills. These practice sessions may be videotaped if the student would like.
Call the Office to schedule an appointment.
Resume Referral System
This system makes student resumes more readily available to
employers. Students may purchase a disk on which to develop resumes and have
this information downloaded into a database system. This will enable employers
to call the Career Services Office with job openings and have these positions
matched with qualified candidates from the graduate/student database. The
candidate's resume can then be faxed through this system directly to the
employer.
On-Campus Interviewing
Employers come to campus to recruit and interview for
various positions. Employer visitation dates and the related job announcements
are printed in the campus newspaper, Newark Campus This Week, posted in the
Career Services Office and with the appropriate academic department. Scheduling
of interview appointments is handled by the Career Services Office.
