Job Search Strategies:
Resume / Cover Letter Development
Developing a polished resume is necessary for a successful
job search. Learn how to create your own resume showcasing your strengths. A
cover letter must be perfect in grammar, punctuation, and present the candidate
in the best light; the office personnel can also help the student learn how to

Mock Interviewing
This service helps students practice their interviewing
skills. These practice sessions may be videotaped if the student would like.
Contact the office to schedule an appointment.
Resume Referral
This service makes student resumes more readily available
to employers. Students may submit their reviewed resumes to remain on file with
the Office of Career Development. This will enable employers
to contact the office with job openings and have these positions
matched with qualified candidates from the graduate/student listings. The
candidate's resume can then be faxed through this system directly to the
employer.On-Campus Interviewing
Employers come to campus to recruit and interview for
various positions. Employer visitation dates and the related job announcements
are announced in Newark Campus This Week, posted in the
Career Services Office Job Boards and with the appropriate academic departments.
Scheduling
of interview appointments is handled by the Office of Career Development.
