Central Ohio Technical College and The Ohio State University at Newark are proud of the unique, collaborative partnership that they have forged in offering an outstanding array of educational opportunities for the central Ohio region and beyond. This partnership is viewed as a model for higher education in the state of Ohio. It provides students and the community with a wealth of resources that would not otherwise be accessible.
At Central Ohio Technical College,
students can earn one of over 40 associate degrees (including all options and
majors) and certificates, and obtain the high-tech skills and training needed to compete in today's workforce. Students choose COTC to gain hands-on, applicable experience to begin working in the field, or to transfer those credits toward a bachelor's degree program. One of the unique features of COTC is four full-service campus locations throughout the region, as well as convenient online classes. Through the newly developed Workforce Development Innovation Center, COTC is well prepared to meet the customized training and education needs of the business communities.
The Ohio State University at Newark offers the best of the Big Ten educational experience, including a rich research heritage and academic excellence. Small class sizes and interaction with faculty through research projects are unique features at Ohio State Newark. Students can complete bachelor's degree programs in education, nursing (RN to BSN), business, English, history and psychology. In addition, students can complete master's degrees in Early/Middle Childhood Education (M.Ed.) and in Integrated Teaching and Learning (M.A.), and most of the coursework for the master's in social work (M.S.W.). Students can take courses toward other Ohio State degree programs, and then transition on to the Columbus campus.
The campus offers abundant student recreation and cultural activities, with more than 50 student organizations and clubs. The John L. and Christine Warner Library and Student Center has become a beautiful and friendly hub of student life on the campus, and is also valued by community groups and visitors. Both Ohio State Newark and COTC are proud to enjoy the support of the community, and to be able to provide students with personal attention, superior education, state-of-the-art facilities, and credentialed faculty and staff on a very scenic campus.
