How does TechConnect provide assistance?
TechConnect answers students' technical questions, or "help requests," via email or onsite. They record each student's help request in a searchable database to monitor pending help requests. They also record the answers to students' questions to keep the team aware of student technical issues and solutions. What hardware does TechConnect support?
TechConnect mainly provides assistance with software questions. Student Technology Services does not assist students with non-COTC/OSU Newark equipment. However, TechConnect will provide general information or pointers if students have questions about hardware, usually directing students to an individual or entity that can assist them with their hardware questions.
Does TechConnect have a toll-free phone number?
No, TechConnect is currently only available by e-mail and onsite.
Is TechConnect available 24-7?
You may contact TechConnect representatives by email at Techconnect@newark.ohio-state.edu or Techconnect@cotc.edu anytime. The representatives will attempt to respond to your questions within 24 hours. Help is available six days a week for specified shifts in the labs. The lab hours are posted each quarter.
Who staffs TechConnect?
A team of student employees staffs TechConnect. They are all well-trained to provide assistance with WebCT, Microsoft Office, and other applications. The Student Technology Services Coordinators work closely with TechConnect to ensure accurate and timely responses to students.
