Angel Learning
Management System
After a year-long evaluation and review, COTC has decided to go with
Angel Learning
as its new
learning management system (LMS)
for online courses. The LMS will
also serve as an online tool for face-to-face classes. Planning is
taking place during Summer Quarter with a small pilot group during Fall
Quarter and then it will roll-out campus-wide Winter Quarter 2009. Stay
tuned for details this summer including information about training.
New Faces
The telCenter has hired two new student workers for summer.
Aimee Phillips is a COTC student in the Digital Media Design program and
comes with impressive web design and multimedia skills. If you are
looking for ways to spruce up your website or want some design ideas,
please visit Aimee in the telCenter.
Jonathan Holmes is an OSU student in the English Department. He enjoys
writing and comes to us with impressive customer service skills and is
always eager to help. If you don’t see him in the telCenter, it’s likely
he can be found in the OSU Writing Lab!
Welcome to both students!

Initiatives
Summer
2008 Initiatives
Some people say that summer quarter is a good time to relax and catch
up. The telCenter agrees, but also feels compelled to use it as a time
to test and explore new trends in educational technology.
Following is a taste of what we will be exploring this summer in
preparation for fall pilots.

Faculty Spotlight

Lori Rice wears many hats. She is an OSU Computer Instructor, Programmer, Mom, and to the telCenter and many, many Newark Campus faculty and staff, she is one heck of a MS Office 2007 trainer!
We met Lori just as we were getting ready to roll-out MS Office 2007 campus-wide in Fall 2007.
Click on the video
picture above to hear Lori's story.
