2007-2010 Strategic Planning ProcessInformation technology is a strategic asset, vital to the effective and efficient operation of the Newark Campus. The implementation of a three-year Information Technology Strategic Plan concluded at the end of 2006. Great progress was made in supporting the academic mission of each of our institutions by addressing infrastructure availability and stability, business continuity planning, and instructional technology needs. Updating and developing a comprehensive Information Technology Strategic Plan for 2007 - 2010 was undertaken with support from representatives of all aspects of our campus. The plan strives to integrate state of the art technology into how we teach, serve and conduct our business practices, as well as our research and community outreach. To help develop such a plan, an ad hoc committee was convened to provide input on the questions:
Where are
campus information and technology services now? The plan speaks equally to the needs of both institutions, and is responsive to their missions and academic plans. The report issued by the ad hoc committee is an advisory document that outlines technology planning assumptions over the next five years, identifies planning, policy issues and initiatives, and recommends action items for our institutions. Central to the process was a campus-wide survey, and a series of open meetings to solicit input from all campus constituencies. The documents listed below are part of the overall Strategic Planning ad hoc committee work from Autumn Quarter 2006 through Winter 2007.
